This policy explains what information Advantage New York — IT Solutions collects when you use this website or hire us to build one, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have written it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because we would rather you actually read it.
Advantage New York — IT Solutions is a trade name of Advantage Business Consulting LLC, a New York limited liability company located at 229-14 Linden Blvd, Cambria Heights, NY 11411. We build and host small business websites. We are the party responsible for the information described below.
Our enquiry forms ask for your name, a way to reach you (WhatsApp number or email address), your business name, and your existing website address if you have one. That is the whole form. We do not ask for your Social Security number, your date of birth, your bank details or your licence documents through this website.
If you go on to hire us, we will collect the material needed to build your site — business address, hours, service areas, photographs, licence and registration numbers that you choose to display publicly, and the content you want on the pages.
Our web host records standard server logs: IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These are used for security and troubleshooting. The site is served through Cloudflare, which also processes request data in order to route traffic and block abuse. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the IP address of visitors as part of serving those font files.
We share information only with the service providers we need in order to deliver the work, and only the part of it they need:
Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted within twelve months. Project files, contracts and invoices are kept for seven years, which is the period New York and federal tax record-keeping generally require. Website backups are kept for the duration of the hosting term and for a short period afterwards.
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to project files and hosting accounts is limited to the people working on your project and protected by two-factor authentication where the provider supports it. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — but we do not ask you to send sensitive personal documents through this website, which removes most of the risk in the first place.
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within thirty days. If you ask us to delete information we are required to retain for tax purposes, we will delete everything else and tell you what we kept and why.
New York residents: the New York SHIELD Act requires us to notify you if a breach exposes your private information. We will do so without unreasonable delay.
This site is aimed at business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Our pages link to client websites, government resources such as the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, and third-party services. Once you follow those links you are on someone else's site under someone else's policy. We are not responsible for their practices.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting existing clients will also be sent by email.
